April 13, 2012 Acts 3:14, 11-26; Luke 24:35-48
Today’s readings give us a sense of the gratitude that must have filled the hearts of the disciples of Jesus.
In the first reading … the healing of a man born lame … Peter’s words identify the healing as a result of the power of Jesus. Peter is very bold in proclaiming that salvation comes through Jesus. This belief has a profound impact on our words and actions … on our lives.
The Gospel is clear … there is an encounter between the disciples and the Risen Lord.
The disciples were AMAZED to see the Resurrected Jesus … and delighted when He provided an abundance of fish. He even provides breakfast … He sustains the disciples.
As today … and each day unfolds … let us pray to see ourselves in the disciples’ shoes … let us see the Risen Jesus as the one who sustains us … He is in our midst.
If our belief is strong … our lives cannot help but be vibrant and full … centered on God from whom all good things come.
